Giving the Co-Wash a go!

Hey guys :)

As you may or may not have gathered so far; I have a lot of trouble with my hair. It goes frizzy, fluffy, dull and all round annoying!

I just finished my exams and have learnt that you find out quite amazing stuff when you are avoiding study. One of the things I found out was this concept of the co-wash.

It's a way of washing your hair without shampoo. I thought I'd give it a go.
This is the post that got me very interested in this idea.
http://www.venusianglow.com/search/label/conditioner-only%20washing
And yes I know it is halfway through her experiment.

The idea of the co-wash is to allow your hair to embrace its natural curl without harsh chemicals causing damage. I'm still researching the best ways to do it but what I've been doing so far is:

The first two days I did a huge rehydration, my hair was very dry and gross, especially because it is winter.

After these days I did plain water washes with no product which I would never have done before, if my hair got wet it got washed.

I started alternating between water washes and conditioning washes and found they were great. My hair was smooth, it had nice waves in it too.

About a week or week and a half into this my hair got grossly oily and I couldn't help but use a little shampoo on my roots. It helped a lot. I had a bit of a read and found that the first month or so is the hard part because your hair needs to adjust.

I sadly didn't take a before photo :(
But I had my hair trimmed and layered today so hopefully with my neater hairstyle I'll be able to see more fantastic outcomes of this co-wash experiment.

If you guys are interested in giving it a go or finding out more, this girls blog does a far better way of explaining co-washing than I can.

I hope you enjoyed,
If I stick with this, which I hope I will, I shall keep you all posted.

Until next time,

Frame the Windows to Your Soul

Hey Girls!

I've been meaning to write this for a while.

Mascara; it can add volume, length or just colour to your eyelashes depending on its application.
I've experimented with a lot of mascaras and have found a few I love.

There's a lot of different mascaras that I've tried. Please find in the above image from left to right the mascaras as follows:

Australis Lash Magnitude Volumising Mascara; Revlon Custom Eyes; Rimmel Extra Wow Lash; Maybelline New York XXL Volume and Length; Unknown; Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara; Covergirl Lashblast Volume; Nude by Nature Magic Mineral Mascara; ECT Mascara Extra Volume & Long Lash; Clinique High Impact Mascara

It's been a while since I've used some of these products but I will do my best to cover most of them.

Revlon Custom Eyes: I use blackest black. It is a pretty good product. I have found it to sometimes be clumpy but it is fixable with proper application. It has two options, Length and Drama and Length and Definition. I personally cannot see a difference but all in all I quite like this mascara.

Maybelline New York XXL: Is pretty cool. Firstly you coat your lashes in the white substance which adds length and then follow with the black on to add volume. I find this can clump quite easily but much like Revlon's, it can be fixed easily as well.

Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara: This was a sample I received. It is quite liquidy and very hard to get any volume from it. Despite this, I quite like is. It has a curved brush for better application. It also doesn't clump very much which is fantastic!

Covergirl Lashblast Volume: This mascara is really good for a natural day look. I've got black-brown. It doesn't clump, it has very little volume or length BUT when you don't want to look like you are wearing makeup but feel you need some colour in your eyelashes, this is perfect for the job.

Nude Magic Mineral: I used to love this mascara. It was the perfect natural looking colour and consistency, but after it ran really badly one day at uni I have gone off it. I will need to retry it with a coat of my clear waterproof sealer over the top to see how that goes.

ECT Mascara: This is a weird one, I don't even know if ECT is it's brand name. Nikita and I found this at a priceline store for $5 and we tried it out. I love it. The substance is runny allowing for little clumping. I have experimented with adding length and volume with it and it is quite effective. For a $5 mascara it is absolutely fantabulous!

TIME FOR MY FAVOURITE!
Clinique High Impact Mascara: I use the colour black. I love this mascara; it doesn't clump very much; it has the right consistency - not too runny, not too thick; I can make it look natural, thick, long or any combination.

Mascara can range from $5 to $50 if not more. It is important to remember that price does not always mean quality. My $5 mascara is one of my favourites, but my $40 mascara is also one of my favourites.

When picking out a mascara, you should look at what you want it for, the colouring, your budget and what your natural eyelashes are like, thin, thick, long or short, different eyelashes will react differently. Nikita has long eyelashes and I have very short eyelashes, you can easily see a huge difference in our lashes, even when we are wearing the same mascara with the same method of application.

If you have the budget, I encourage you to try out a few different one. If you don't, that's OK. Do your research and make a decision. If you get it wrong the first time, don't worry, all makeup need to be replaced occasionally and you'll get another chance.

I hope this gave you a bit of insite into different mascaras.

Until next time,
Stay Beautiful!

Autum to winter

Hey girls,
So this has taken me a while to post but we did a mini photo shoot, showing some ideas for Autumn to Winter fashions.

So here we go!

So here is a picture of me. I am wearing a high wasted skirt with polka dots. I paired it with a black cami and some black ballet flats. I love this look for Autumn because its so versatile. You never know when the weather can change.

So what I did to change this outfit to a more winter look was.

I added a bright red over sized blazer for warmth and for a pop of colour. I did role up the sleeves for this look but you can leave them out if you like. I also added some woollen stockings as well.

That is how I changed this look up a little. I love this outfit and am loving blazers at the moment.

So this is Laurens look.

Lauren is wearing a longer top that comes down to mid thigh. She paired it with her favorite pair of jeans, black boots and a black scarf.

How she changed up the outfit.

She added a leather jacket to make this outfit warmer for those colder days. You can also wear the scarf with this outfit.

Well I hope you like these outfits. Sorry you cant see whole outfits in the photos. Also these photos have not been edited at all. :)

Stay beautiful.

Wardrobe Replacement!!! :D :D :D

Hey guys!

I'm so excited! For the past few months I've been slowly replacing my wardrobe. That might sound kind of stupid, but considering I've had the same clothes since between grade eight and grade ten, if not longer; that's between 6.5 and 4.5 years!

I'm really excited about this. I'm a huge Kmart fan actually... I never used to be, but their clothes are getting better in quality. Half the time you can get exactly the same at Kmart as you can at Target for a third of the cost.

For example: I bought a shirt at Kmart for $3 (on sale, full price $15ish), when Target was selling an identical shirt for $25-$30 (I can't remember exactly).

So today I'm going to share a few of my latest buys with pricing, shop, and maybe a bit of a spiel.

Cardigans and Tights

It's winter in Australia and I've never been too worried about a light jumper thing, as I'm very much into hoodies. But above are some cardigans I've bought and liked.

1) This green cardigan is $15 from Temt, I bought the medium. It sits at about hip length with pockets. There is a collar around the neck and the arms are three-quarter length.

2) The green tights were $10 at Target. I didn't realise the were the same colour as my green cardigan.

3, 4 & 5) These cardigans are $15 at Valley Girl, I got the small. They sit at hip length with pockets and full length arms. I originally bought the black one but loved it so much I went back for the  dark magenta and grey. They are incredibly warm for how light they are. They also come in a purple, white/light grey and pale green.

6) These tights are the same as #2 and are the same colour as #5.

Skirts
1) This ankle length skirt is from Kmart for $10, reduced from $19!

2) This is a tightish skirt I got from Valley Girl for $15 reduced from $20. It is a bit smaller then I would like, but the skirt has room for larger hips than mine.

3) This red skirt I also got from Valley Girl for $15 reduced from $25. It isn't very clear in the photo but there are ruffles at the top which I quite like because it hides my stomach a bit.

4) I got this from Target for $22, it was reduced but I cannot remember what from. It's a pleated skirt that sits just above the knee and is really cute worn with black tights.

Shirts

1 & 2) I got these from Kmart for $8 and a red one on special for $5. They are awesome, the sleeves aren't too short and the green shirt helped me through to 3am at Relay for Life over the weekend!

3 - 6) I got these from Kmart as well. They are $6 and have been around for quite a while.

BED SOCKS!!
My bed socks were $12 from Target and they are so so warm with grip on the bottom. I wish I new how to knit socks!

Anyways, I just wanted to share my new stuff! The good thing about this is it should last a few seasons (or another 5years).

I think it is time to go through all my old stuff and give some away to lifeline! Or I could do a clothes swap! If you've never done it before and are interested, get a group of friends together (the closer to your size the better) and each put the clothes you don't want on the table and see what you can find of theirs that you like! At the end of this, if there's anything nobody wants, donate it!

Until next time!

Nails

Hey Girls.

I recently purchaced the OPI Holland collection. I purchaced the dutch trats mini pack. The colours are so cute and wearable. The colours are;

I have a Herring Problem, Red lights Ahead...Where?, Kiss Me on My Tulips, Pedal Faster Suzi.

So in this turorial I used Pedal Faster Suzi and I think in Pink which is not from this collection.

Firstly I preped my nails by taking my old nail poilish off and making sure that you fix up and breaks and chips.

I then used I think in Pink and painted all of my nails.

I then wanted to use my new collection, especially Pedal Faster Suzi!
So I painted my ring finger with this colour over the top of I Think In Pink

The finished look..... You can't really see the ring finger that much but it does look so pretty.

So leave a comment below and tell me what your favourite nail look is.

Lovin' the Bun!

Hey girls,

It has only been recently that I have really grasped the simple bun, before then it was this thing I had to do to my hair every week for ballet and never really much fun. BUT I'm loving it at the moment and I'm going to give you a quick how-to and you can develop your own style from there.

Step #1 - Prep
This step is optional. I prefer to wash my hair before putting it in a bun. My hair is so thick, to try and restrain it with a hairband whilst dry is annoying.
As I said this is an optional step but this bun can be worn for two or three days with barely any need for maintenance, so it's a good idea to wash it.

Step #2 - Tie it back
This is the easiest way to start a bun. There are many other ways which range from having bits separated from the rest or not using a hair-tie at all.
You can have your ponytail at any height, remembering that the height of your ponytail will be the height of your bun.
If you are having trouble getting it to the height you want, bend over as though you are going to touch you toes and use gravity to get your hair to the desired height OR lie on your back on your bed with your head hanging over the edge and do the same.

Step #3 - Bun it! Pin it!
For this step you twist your ponytail around your index finger while also spinning it around your ponytail (I'm sorry I couldn't get more photos). I Pinned the end into the bun with a bobby pin but you can also use bun pins doing this step to secure it.

Bun Pin

Using bun pins secure the twisted hair in place. I make sure I get the bun pin to sit firmly under the hairband. To finish off the bun I use my bobby pins to secure any lose hair and my fringe.

Buns are awesome. They are so versatile. You can have them plain, add a scrunchy, ribbon or a big clip. As long as you can get your hair into a ponytail you can make a bun (I have seen it done with incredibly short hair).

This was just a starter bun, you can do so much once you've learnt the basics. I have platted my ponytail and put it in a braided bun and you can created two buns using piggytails.

If you wear the bun high enough you can even sleep with it and wear it again the next day. I did that Saturday night, I woke up Sunday and put a few extra pins in and neatened up a few spots and had it for another day.

You're hair won't knot while it's in the bun either!

I love them!

So, that was a quick how to.

Until next time,
Stay Beautiful

Nails, Nail Polish and Cars

Hey girls!

So I know that nails and nail polish being put in a beauty post along with cars is a bit odd but I promise it is relevant!

Last night I did my first attempt ever of putting on acrylic nails myself and failed pretty badly on my right hand since I'm right handed. I fixed it up a bit this morning and got moving with nail polish :)

Acrylic nails:
I went down to Kmart and bought an acrylic nails set for $24. It had descent instructions, supplied the nail extension things, the glue, and the liquid and powder acrylic. Plus it is far cheaper than paying $60 for it to be professionally done. Practice makes perfect!

I know earlier this year I was raving about OPI's Nail Envy and how awesome it is as a nail strengthener, AND I STILL STAND BY IT! but being an art student I rubble through trash, get oil paint, acrylic paint, oils, turpentine, methylated spirits, acids and drain cleaner on my hands constantly and it trashed my nails. So I'm going to try grow my nails under a layer of acrylic, where hopefully with refills I won't have any fake nail extensions beneath the acrylic.

Nail Polish:
Due to my cruddy job at fake nails I couldn't get any of my favourite polishes to sit nicely on the layer of acrylic that no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get smooth. In the above photo I managed to use "Napoleon Paris Chandelier Shine - Lust", or as I call it "Australia Post Red". This polish is by far my favourite polish in application but not my favourite colour.

Cars:
So you might be wondering how cars come into the equation. I love this little trick and I'm going to share it. My Dad used to always raid my nail polish collection, "Hey Lauren do you have silver? Do you have clear? Do you have blue?" I later found out he was using it on our cars. A little chip or scratch in the paint can be covered up by a little bit of nail polish. The nail polish seals it and if applied well with the right colour can be almost invisible. The nail polish I've used above is also my car's nail polish. The colour is a perfect match!

Anyhow, I mainly wanted to share my car tip but needed a way to get to it.

So until next time,
Stay Beautiful!

A Compilation of Redheadedness

If you're a redhead like me you probably know how hard it can be to get good makeup and hair products and tips. I hope this compilation of what I've found out or learnt myself.

This is based on my personal look, deep brown eyes, auburn hair and pale freckly skin. Feel free to use these tips and adjust them to suit yourself. I would love to hear about any suggestions, corrections or personal experience. Just leave a comment below.

TIPS:

#1 - EMBRACE THE FRECKLES!!! They are SO cute. I love freckles, they are so youthful and unique. I've never been one to try cover them up, thick makeup doesn't work for me. If you don't like your freckles though, I've found tinted moisturiser (preferably with in built sunscreen) is really good for evening out skin tones without going too dark or too thick.

#2 - Steer clear of pink. I'm not saying it is this huge no no. It is a very hard colour to wear. It increases the look of redness and if your skin is like mine it gets red and blotchy very easily. I often don't even wear blush because I can go so red so easily. But if you choose to wear blush or pinks just be careful of what shades you choose. I have read and heard in many forums and conversations that peaches and corals are very successful for the redheads complexion.

#3 - Choose your eyeshadow and mascara/eye liner shade carefully. I have dark brown eyes and for me I wear black mascara and eyeliner because the browns close in my eyes. Browns, greens, honeys, golds and other warm or neutral colours are a nice collection to have. I love using greens with a touch of purple to add a subtle oomph or peach or soft browns.

#4 - Skin Tone, Skin Tone, Skin Tone. Gold verses Silver, Yellow verses Pink. Skin tone effects the colours best suited to you. I'm a gold, warm person but I've been told I have cool skin but warm hair (no pun intended). This tip applies for everyone. Find out your colours and use them. Your colours affect the colour clothes you wear, the makeup you use and whether you should use a yellow or pink foundation. The wrong colours can make you look sick or washed out, the right colours will make just make you look good.

#5 - Blotchy redness and the fantastic green concealer. I love green concealers, they tone down redness and work so much better then concealers designed to hide pimples and blemishes.

#6 - No Competition! I love this tip! I found it at http://www.raising-redheads.com/makeup-tips.html while researching for this post. I love it! Don't compete. You're a redhead! Your hair is amazing! Why make your hair compete for the attention. It's like the 'Eyes or Lips' rule. Your hair already won by being a red so your makeup should compliment it not overpower it!

These are just 6 quick tips for redheads. If you want more detailed reasoning or tutorials using, just let me know and I'll put that together for you.

Stay Beautiful!
Lauren.

How I style my hair

Ok so I washed my hair with the John Freida frizz-ease dreamy curls shampoo and conditioner.

I then towel dryer my hair. Using a..... Towel :)

I then brushed my hair to free up any knots.

I then proceeded to spray my hair with Rokk Ebony heat primer and the Herbal Essences tussel me softly spray gel.

I then used my hands to scrunch my hair to create some waves. I have naturally curly/wavy hair to start out with.

I then took my hair dryer and dryed my fringe and the top section of my hair. I only dry these sections other wise my hair will be frizzy and crazy. I just let the rest dry naturally.

I then took my hair straightener and straightened my fringe just to make it more consistent.

This is all I usually do but tonight I am wearing a head band so I just added that as well.

Kitty's Effie Trinket Nails

So, the other day I was bored out of my brains so I decided to do 'Effie Trinket' nails from The Hunger Games movie. I didn't have the right materials, but you can get by without them.

- Foundation sponge.
- ALTERNATIVE 1Tissue folded tightly.
- Magenta Nail Polish
- Thick Gold Nail Polish

Paint your nails in that magenta. Do about 2 coats so it is smooth.
Take a tissue (or, recommended, a foundation sponge.) and lightly blot the gold over your nails. go to about 3/4 up your nail, but don't make it too thick. Wait for it to dry, and go over it again to 1/2 the nail. After this is dry, do about 1/3 of the nail. They should look like this:
They do look a little tacky (it was my first time!) and I used a tissue. Never fear, I bought sponges that afternoon. Enjoy your nails, and may the odds be ever in your favour!

Nail Polish!

Hey girls! - Kitty here.
Today I went shopping with my sister, and in Price Attack, I stumbled upon Halloween themed nail polish! (O.P.I of course!) It was a bottle of glow in the dark, and a bottle of black shatter in a pack.

I bought it, for $34.05 (I'm going broke...) and can't wait to do a tutorial about it for you!

Right now I'm painting my nails magenta and have a gold bottle sitting on the table next to me... I'm going to do an Effie Trinket (from Hunger Games) themed nail polish tutorial! I'm just waiting for the pink to dry then I'll finish it and post the tutorial later this afternoon. Sadly it's not a video, only pictures. In the future they will be videos.

Thanks ladies, and stay beautiful!!

The Sassy Class-ic Makeup Routine

Hi, it's Kitty here again :)

This time, I'm going to explain to you my daily makeup routine.

I'm pretty rookie when it comes to wearing makeup. I HAVE been doing it for years, because I did dance when I was younger and learned to do it then. However, I went on a hiatus and didn't use makeup when I was in high school very often because we weren't allowed to wear it.

Anyway. I start off by using a Natio all day SPF 15+ moisturizer. I then put Garnier tinted caffeine eye roll on under my eyes, on my eyelids and over my nose or any blemishes and red patches. It's light and great for covering veins or small red marks.

I use a BYS liquid eyeliner and do a cat like swipe/flick for a classic look. If I'm feeling game, I add a little bit of eye shadow, creme eyeliner, or lipstick. I finish it off with Revlon mascara.

I know it doesn't seem like much, but it's a simple way to make you look beautiful without piling too much makeup on. Sometimes, if I'm going out, I'll use a foundation, but only for special events.

Sorry for the horrible quality!

I'd love to see how some of you do your makeup!
Stay beautiful, Kitty.

Feel Good Music

Firstly, it's Kitty here. Sorry for being on hiatus!

When you're feeling sad, don't listen to sad music! You best whip out the happy tunes and just revel in love.

I've got a bit of back story. I got my license yesterday, and talked to my mum about borrowing one of our cars today so I could drive to see my friends. Long story short, I was under the impression I would get the car, woke up this morning and didn't get the car. So I was stuck at home. I came back to my computer, and put on some happy music..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkFxvqfA7E4&context=C410b2b0ADvjVQa1PpcFOt-DkyDey5UWhqLzvhZgyNvwOKkZOmETY=  <--- this was the song I listened to.

It made me feel loved, and just managed to cheer me up heaps.
The guy who wrote/sang this is actually one of my best friends.

Check out his song. Yes, this was a plug for him, but he didn't ask me to :3
I decided I would because I found his song and it made my day.
Thanks ladies.

Stay beautiful, Kitty.

Have you ever bought something that's just so (insert word here)?

I walked into Kmart yesterday and spotted a $3 rack and quickly moved there. I really like finding cheap stuff I like. I walked away with a sports shirt I bought at $15 (in a different colour), A skirt I've been watching decrease in price since it was $20.

And this...

It's 4 sizes too big (The right size looked stupid). and I was intrigued by the big gaping sleeves, I thought the knots looked kinda stupid but loved the colour. I thought to myself "HEY! it's $3 you can totally afford it *cough*", so I bought it and when I got home I started working on ways to wear it.

So far I've worked out that tucking the knots into the sleeves will make it less stupid. Add some accessories or leave it as is and it isn't a bad looking $3 shirt.

SO, Have you guys ever found something so (insert word here) that you had to buy it regardless of whether you originally like it or not?

Anyways,
Till next time,

Stay Beautiful :)

Washing off makeup

Hey girls

So recently I have been making sure I have been washing my face properly before I go to bed. I seemed to be getting pimples because I would leave it on and it would clog up my pores while I was sleeping.

I know it can be annoying when your really tired to wash your face but trust me it's totally worth it is the long run.

Ok so when I wash my face I use warm water to open up my pores. This helps get any dirt that is in them. So that pimples do not form.

I then take a cleanser I normally use nutrimetics but today I got a new one from clean and clear that has a brush scrubber on in to exfoliate as you wash. This is a great way to wash your face it is so simple and easy. I will do a review on this product when I use it more.

If I use nutimetics I use the toner and cream as well. The only thing with these products is that they smell a lot like chemicals and I am someone who loves things that smell good.

Tonight I got back into using the lucura night cream as well so I will let you know how that goes.

Remember it is better in the long run if you take that extra time at night.

Loreal Elvive hair care

Hey girls so a while ago I used a range of hair care called Elvive from Loreal. I have never liked something so much that i have brought true whole range.

They are so good. I used then a while ago and just started to use them again and I remembered how awesome they are. I use the one that is white and red packaging which is the total repairing one. Is smells amazing and does great things for your hair. If you have dry or damaged hair this is the thing for you. It just revive dry hair and leave it fresh and alive. I recommend this product a lot.

The Lazy woMan's Daily Makeup - Lauren

Hey Girls,

Today it is my turn to share one of my makeup routines. I have 3, depending on what I'm doing, how I'm feeling and how much of a rush I am in. This article is about how I apply my makeup when I'm in a rush or feeling lazy or having a good skin day.

Starting with a clean, moisturised face I apply Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB cream (which I have done a review on previously).

I often will apply Rimmel Match Perfection Skin Tone Adapting Concealer in shade 010 Ivory to cover up the red marks or spots that the BB cream doesn't conceal.

After the application I will either apply Rimmel Stay Matte Press Powder to remove shine, or if there is none I will leave it as is.

To complete my natural look, I will use Clinique High Impact Mascara which is an awesome mascara that clumps the least out of all the mascara's I have used.

After applying the mascara I apply Chi Chi All Night Long Black Auto Eyeliner to my upper waterlines to enhance the thickness and darkness of my eyelashes. I will also sometimes apply Maybelline Maste Precise Liquid Liner to the outside of the top eyelid.

To finish it off I apply Loreal Nudy Pink Lip Butter.

Below is a photo of my completed look.

Done and Dusted!

Perfume

I can say I love to smell good. I love to make my hair smell amazing to that when people are near you they say your hair smells so good!

Also just smelling good is amazing. Here are some of my favorite perfumes.

Marc Jacobs daisy is my all time favorite it smells so amazing. It is about $70 a bottle but it is great.

Britney spears fantasy is a great everyday perfume for a cheaper price. Its about $20 for a bottle.

Some others that make good perfume katy perry, Taylor swift, channel

Also if you are buying for a man Ralph Lauren black is amazing and bvlagro black is also yummy!

I hope this helps but remember everyone enjoys different scents.

Foundation routine - Nikita

Hey guys so I am just going to tell you how I apply my foundation and what products I use.

I start out with a clean face. I then apply my "natures care paw paw" moisturiser.

Next I add my "Rimmel fix and perfect face primer" all over my face. This just helps to keep the makeup in place for longer.

Next I apply "Rimmel stay matte liquid foundation" in the colour 103 true ivory. I use clean fingers to apply because it blends better with the heat from your fingers.

I then use "cover girls medium translucent professional powder" to set the make up in place.

If I have any blemishes or under eye circles I use the "body shops tea tree concealer" in shade one. I do this step usually after or before apply foundation.

I then go onto then rest of my makeup. If you would like to see me apply my make up I will be uploading to YouTube soon a video of how I apply my makeup.

Essie

Recently I went into Myers to show kitty what Essie nail polish is. For you who don't know it's a brand of nail polishes that I have only ever found in Myers in Australia I am sure you could get them some other places in the bigger cities.

I went just to show her them but ended up getting two. There was a sale on the packs of smaller ones. So I decided to go halves with her. We got the summer collection one and I ended up with the colours "pretty edgy" and "knockout pout" they are really nice and I had never worn green nail polish like this colour. I would recommend these nail polishes. They apply do well and last pretty well, although using a top coat is best for a lasting finish. I really had to get it because we had to dress up in green for St. Patrick's day at work. I hope to try more of the range soon.

Water

Hey girls

So I recently bought a water bobble. I am not lying when I say it is proberly one of the best bought this ever! I can not stand the taste of unfiltered water. So this helps me to drink so much water through out the day. We I would take a normal water bottle I would drink it all and then not fill it back up because it tasted so bad. I would then feel so gross because I wasnt drinking. This is where the water bobble is amazing I now just refill when ever I need and it filters as I go.

I have had another filter bottles before but I found it alot harder to drink out of.

Water is so good for our body inside and out. It clears out bad stuff in our bodies and keeps us hydrated. Water has been proven to keep skin healther as well. So one of the best keep beauty secrects is drink lots and lots of water.

Enjoy and Stay Beautyful!

TIP OF THE DAY + PRODUCT REVIEW

Hey girls!

It's time for a combined tip and review.

My tip is a pretty old one and a pretty basic one but it has to be said...
DON'T WEAR MAKEUP WHEN YOU HAVE BAD PIMPLES OR ACNE.

Everyone has a day or week where their skin just isn't right, there's also a group of people who suffer from acne. I don't know much about dealing with acne, this is directed more at the people who occasionally suffer from bad skin.

My skin has only just cleared up after a week of awfulness and I learnt a little trick...

Wash your face. Don't wear foundation every day. Don't wear concealer where possible.
I didn't wear any makeup other than mascara and it helped a lot.

Another thing that helped a lot is my tinted moisturiser. And this is where my review comes in.

I've been using "Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One Moisturiser" BB Cream.

You can find this on http://www.garnier.com.au/_en/_au/bb-cream/products.aspx
I've been using this daily. It evens out skin tone and dulls redness. I have been using it instead of foundation and if required it is possible to use Concealer on top or use Translucent Powder to remove any shine.

It comes in light, medium or dark tones and even if it doesn't quite match it is very close and can be adjusted just by the amount of product used. For example, my skin tone is a little too light for the light tone, so I use a smaller amount or put a lighter translucent powder over the top.

This is simply a tinted moisturiser and because of this it is perfect for moments like I mentioned earlier when you feel the need to wear something but it would be a bad idea to wear full-on makeup. As a moisturiser it doesn't clog up your pores like a foundation.

I love this product, although it can feel a little heavy on my skin. But that being the only downside it is a pretty amazing product and definitely one to invest in.

That's it for this article.

Those Braces...

Hey Girls,

So today my post isn't going to be so much about a beauty tip or review but more on something that nobody likes but alot of people have... Braces.

I personally have had braces and I know how it feels to be a metal mouth. But honestly I don't see what this hatred against braces is.

Yes you have a heap of metal in your mouth for a year or two but honestly you just have to look at your before and afters to realise they are worth it.

I personally never got bullied for having braces but I've heard some people have been. And I don't understand why. It's just an apparartis to correct something. They're much like glasses and they are awesome and trendy.

I got braces at the beginning of grade 11 and had them right up until part way through my first semester at uni. I had to have teeth removed because there wasn't enough space and I had to have all sorts of elastics during; some where I couldn't open my mouth. But in the end, after two years of being a metal mouth I can see it was definately worth it.

I'm not saying everyone should get braces. I got mine because of my huge overbite and rabbit-like teeth. My dentist said if I got hit in the face by a ball during smort it could do serious damage.

All I'm trying to say is they aren't that bad. Take it from someone who's had them, they are a pain in the butt to clean but they really do give you some pretty good results.

Don't be scared if your dentist tells you "you need them", if you end up getting them, you'll be amazed by the stunning improvement which will be apparent in your before and after shots (which I lost, hence why I have personal photos not the authodontists photos above).

SO that's my message to you girls today. They aren't anything to be scared of and it's just another accessory.

SO remember, regardless of if you have braces, glasses, red hair or green, YOU are beautiful!!!

Product Review: L'Oréal Perfect Clean

I recently ran out of face scrub. Horrified and worried that I wouldn't have one to use the night I ran out, I rushed to the store, and upon seeing the 'Perfect Clean' bottle (with the cute little CleanPod) I was intrigued, so I bought it.

Picture from www.lorealparis.com.au, as well as more information on the product.

The cute little brush it comes with is perfect for getting a deeper clean. I've been using it for a week, and I've noticed that my skin is less oily feeling, and the blackheads smaller. It's you-beaut because you can use it either in the shower, or just as a morning pick-me-up at your sink.

The hole in the bottle makes for easy storage, so you're not forever misplacing the CleanPod brush. It comes in 3 different variations of the product, with "Detoxifying" (the blue one, the one I use) "Exfoliating" (orange) and "Cleans and softens" (pink.)

Sorry for not blogging for a while, the hype of starting university has gotten to me, and I've blacked out of my internet life :) Hope you found this review helpful, and find the products as good as I did!

Stay beautiful, Kitty.

OPI Nail Strengthener Excitement

Hey girls!

I'm so excited to share this with you all.

So I have been a nail biter my whole life. I'd do it because I was bored, because I was nervous, there was no particular reason for it and it took years to train myself to stop it. I eventually got it to the point of only when I was nervous or worried.

My nails have always made me self conscious. Even after I stopped biting them, I still couldn't get them to grow because they were so weak they'd snap or peal off. So regardless of whether I was biting them or not, they looked awful.

I was recently introduced to OPI nail polish. Here in Australia a coloured bottle will cost approximately $18 and a base, top, hardener, etc. polish can cost around $30. Now I'm not into paying that much for a nail polish that my 7 year old cousin is going to get into and spill all over the floor... BUT, I bought the mini version which was about $8 for 3.75mL.

The Nail Envy Range, found on www.OPI.com
The polish is called OPI Original Nail Envy Nail Strengthener and OH MY GOSH!!! I can see the whites of my nails! Honestly, I have never been able to get my nails this long so well. Normally one or two will snap off making the rest look stupid. And normally my nails will bend the second there's nothing behind it to support it. BUT,  my nails are stronger and more durable.
If any of you have issues with weak and frail nails, I seriously recommend trying out the OPI Nail Strengthener. It's amazing, I would actually be willing to go back and pay $30 for the bigger bottle if I needed to.

If anyone has any helpful hints on how to stop biting your nails or a cheaper alternative of a nail strengthener please leave a comment.

Red Lips

Hey guys sorry its been a while.

Have you ever wanted to where red lips but never had the guts to pull it off. I was like that but I bought a make up bag with a bunch of different kinds of make up in it and in it was a Rimmel red lip stick. I have worn it a couple of times and its great. It seems like a build able lipstick so the more  you put on the more red it will be. Its a great red lip stick for if your now sure about wearing it.

One of the bonuses with wearing red lipstick is that it makes your teeth look whiter and just adds so much to an outfit.

Here is me rocking the red lips.

Volumizing hair products

Hey everyone

So the other day I was asked by a friend if I knew of any kind of hair products that can give her hair lift. She has short straight hair with no volume at all. I have long curly/wavy hair that has so much body that I didn't really know to much about it but I did go out and have a look for her. I went to a few different stores such as; Price line, Price Attack, Coles and Just Cuts.

All of these places had so many different kinds of volumizing products that I just was not sure so I just wrote them down for her and the price so maybe she could have a try of them.

The products that I found were:

(note: All of these except for Bodify are shampoo and conditioner)

David Babaii- Amplifying  {RRP: $22.99}  (cruelty free)

Yes to Tomato's- Volumizing { RRP: $12.99}

Pantene Clinicare- Fullness-charge revitalising {RRP: $29.99}

John Frieda- Volumizing {RRP:$10.99}
                   - Full repair  {RRP: $10.99}
Edgy- Bodify cream {RRP: $17.00}

She was also asking about repairing and split ends and something that was coconut scented

So I suggested

Macadamia oil {RRP: $19.95}
Marrakesh oil {RRP: $38.95}
Body shop coconut shine {RRP: $13.00}

I hope this is helpful on finding some new products please leave a comment if you have tried these products before.

Country Fresh

This doesn't really have anything to do with beauty but at the same time it has everything to do with it. I've gone to stay on my Aunt's farm for the next few days. This is the first morning. And just one night in this house with one TV, lots of watermelon and rock melon and no Internet (I brought my own >.<), my brain has slowed down to a steady pace.

Sometimes we find that in the hustle and bustle of going to school, work or uni every single day we don't have time to slow down. We finish our day out and we come home to a busy home preparing dinner, watching YouTube and movies and TV and our day never really just stops or slows down until that moment we go to bed.

This morning I got out of bed and walked outside to talk to the cow. That cow doesn't like me. But I stood there on my side of the fence chatting away with it.

Have you guys ever just sat there and talked to an animal? Or taken the time to clime up into a tree to look at the park next door? Or watched the clouds or stars?

Inner beauty is so important. Why have a beautiful body if your personality needs some improvement? Even if you already have a great personality, if someone is stressed all the time they aren't great to hang out with.

Spending my first night on this farm has made me think...

Girls, next time you feel stressed, or tired, or worn out and needing time away from people. I encourage you to go for a walk or clime a tree or watch the clouds or even the stars. Just give yourself half an hour to slow down and take you time to sit and enjoy. It really helps me to clear my thoughts and I hope it helps you too.

Tip of the Day: Blushing

Hey Guys,

You know those really awkward moments you have when you blush and just can't stop? Yeah, I get them too. Sometimes I'm not sure which is redder, my hair or my face...

Well this is something I read about last year that really worked! I can't for the life of me remember where I read it... But...

LET YOURSELF BLUSH!!!

It's weird hey? But that's the problem I used to face. I'd get embarrassed and I'd go bright red and I knew I was red and try to stop it which would make it worse.

Let yourself blush.

After about a year of working at this I have found that the quicker you get over the fact that you are blushing and it isn't that weird... the quicker your normal colouring will return.

I really encourage you to try this. It really does work. You'll feel less awkward in embarassing situations
